A 10-year-old boy and his playground companions came to the rescue of a kitten who was allegedly being beaten to death with a baseball bat in a Florida park June 10.
The Tampa Tribune reports a woman and her two young sons had already killed one kitten and discarded its body in a trash can before kids at Hill N’ Dale Park in Brooksville (an hour north of Tampa) intervened.
The kids went to the park to play but saw a woman — later identified as 24-year-old Joenel Frazier — beating two kittens with the help of her 5- and 8-year-old sons. The Tribune reports the kitten wandered toward the family, whereupon Fraizer and her sons allegedly beat them with aluminum baseball bats and kicked them while talking about killing people.
One kitten was killed, according to the newspaper. Its body was allegedly thrown into a trash can while one of the boys poured water on it.

This is the bizarre moment two fire engines were called to rescue a sheep – which was stuck on the roof of a house.
Stunned residents dialled 999 after the creature was spotted scrambling across roof tiles in the remote village of Pontycymer, South Wales.
A team from Bridgend Fire and Rescue Service took 40 minutes to bring the animal down from the terraced row using a Large Animal Rescue appliance.
