WOW!! What a Successful Toy Drive!

In all we received $1580 in donations which resulted in us sending Toys for Hops $3160 worth of Rabbit Toys for Rescue Bunnies all across the United States!!

Gretta has promised lots of pictures and wants to thank everyone for their kindness and generosity. And of course, the bunnies thank you too

This year many rabbits will be enjoying Christmas with their families. Not only that, they will get gifts and lots of love and kisses on Christmas morning.

Westland woman, cat rescued from condo fire

WESTLAND, Mich. -
A woman and her cat are safe after being rescued Friday morning from their burning condo in Westland.

Patricia Stanton said she was alerted to the fire in her condo building on Spring Valley Drive by a neighbor.

“A neighbor called, I was sleeping, and she said, ‘You got to get out there’s flames coming from your roof and smoldering,’” she said.

Stanton, who has a disability, said she was quickly rescued by firefighters, who also went back in and got her cat, Sadie.

“Everything’s gone, my neighbor’s, too. I just feel so bad for all of us,” Stanton said.

On Jan. 6, Mars was discovered lying in a pool of his own urine and was shivering from the cold, according to a news release from the Baltimore County Department of Health. He was rescued on Orems Road by an area resident.

A few years ago, I lived in a rather rough neighbourhood in Toronto, Canada. There were many feral and abandoned cats there, the result of people “freeing” their unwanted pets or simply not spaying or neutering them. The cats suffered terribly througout the winter, and sadly, many died by freezing or starving or in cars as a result of trying to find a warm place to sleep.

Heaven Can Wait Equine Rescue is located in Cameron, Ontario, Canada – approx 2 hours NE of Toronto, just 10 minutes North of Lindsay. This Equine Rescue was started by Claire Malcolm in 1997 to help save horses and ponies from slaughter, and take in any unwanted horse or pony and find them a new, loving home. Not all Horses at HCW are old and lame, or come from abusive/neglective situations, some come from private individuals who want to find a good home for their horse, but don’t have the time or knowledge to sell it privately, but don’t want to send it to an auction, so they send them here to HCW to find a good home. As you know horses that end up at auctions do have a chance to get bid on by a caring family home, but they also risk the chance of being bid on by a bad home or worse, the meat man.
