One of my favorite books, and subsequent favorite feel-good movies is “Marley and Me” by John Grogan. If you’re not familiar with the autobiographical novel, the central character is the family dog – a yellow lab named Marley. Marley is an uncontrollable, high-strung dog that the family just can’t help but love despite the naughty things he does. The book is marketed with the line, “Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog.”

Marley may have indeed been the World’s Worst Dog, but I think I am well on the way in proving that we are the proud owners of the World’s Worst Cat.

Berkeley is a new addition to our family. We adopted her from the Berkeley Humane Society on Mother’s Day of this year – and named her for the city of her residence. We spent quite a bit of time looking for just the right cat to fit into our family. We looked at all the local shelters and rescues centers.
