The dog shot in the head a week ago during a home invasion-style robbery attempt gave birth to seven puppies Tuesday morning.

Their owner, Tabitha Billings, said all of the newborns were born healthy. The puppies began arriving at 12:36 a.m. Tuesday.

Tabitha Billings had been playing with her 3-year-old son, Alexander, after dinner Sept. 22 when a man with a silver gun and two bandanas covering his face opened the door and pointed the gun at them, she said. The medium-sized mixed breed dog Billings calls Jada came around the corner to attack the gunman, who pulled the trigger before backing out of the house and fleeing.
