At least 56 out of those 87 Chihuahua dogs, rescued from a puppy mill last week, have good homes tonight.

People stood in line for hours over the weekend at the Bay County Animal Control Shelter for the chance to adopt one of the dogs.

The director of the Animal Control Center says the community’s support has been amazing. He says there are still four pregnant Chihuahuas left, but they are being fostered right now.

He says once the puppies are born and are old enough, they will be available for adoption.
