An Okaihau couple got the Christmas present they dreamed of.

Brian and Leslie Denton were reunited with their dog ‘Puppy’ , stolen just a few days before Christmas.

‘Puppy’, a German pointer, featured on the Northern News front cover on December 24. The week before that, a person had taken the dog after paying a visit to the Denton’s Firehouse Museum at Okaihau, where Puppy is the mascot.

However, a woman found the missing dog 5km from his home a bit before The Holidays, on December 18. She took the dog to the Far North District Council who gave the woman Puppy’s owners’ phone number.

From that minute, things went very quickly. The dog was reunited with his family and everyone sure had a MERRY CHRISTMAS!
