Top birds this week: KING EIDER, EARED GREBE, YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON, RED-BILLED TROPICBIRD, CASPIAN TERN, SNOWY OWL, RED-HEADED WOODPECKER, BLUE-WINGED WARBLER, KENTUCKY WARBLER, PROTHONOTARY WARBLER, HOODED WARBLER, SUMMER TANAGER, CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS and YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD.

The late migrating flycatchers, thrushes, and warblers were still arriving or passing through Maine this week. Species noted were: OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER, EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE, YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER, ALDER FLYCATCHER, WILLOW FLYCATCHER, GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH, BICKNELL’S THRUSH, SWAINSON’S THRUSH, WOOD THRUSH, TENNESSEE WARBLER, BLACKPOLL WARBLER, and MOURNING WARBLER.
