Sometimes brushes with wildlife have a way of bringing people together.

Two weeks ago Bonita neighbors Margaret Emblige and Angie Ur were barely acquainted. They lived within 30 yards of each on Meadow Lark Lane, south of Bonita Beach Road, but neither knew the other’s name.

That was before a young bird fell from a tree and brought Emblige, Ur and other previously unfamiliar neighbors together.

Emblige was out walking her Labrador one evening in April when she heard a squawking noise coming from the side of a nearby house. Ur, a veterinarian, was just arriving from work, when Emblige remarked on the noise.
